From the 2020 Osborne Mint Holiday Collection, this solid silver round design showcases Kwanzaa, a seven-day celebration of African-American culture held in late December. Kwanzaa was created in 1966 by Dr. Karenga as a way to bring African Americans together as a community. Each day a candle is lit and one of seven principles is discussed including unity, self-determination, purpose, and creativity. Our round shows a candelabra and seven lit candles with the words KWANZAA and Habari Gani (Swahili for “how are you?”) across the top.
The back design is the same for all four rounds. It features an image of wings with a shield in the center of them and a flag flying above. A ribbon under the wings says USA (where all our coins are made), while a cityscape circles underneath. .999 Fine Silver grace the top, with One Troy Ounce at the bottom – denoting the purity and weight. The O/M mint mark is shown as your mark of quality.
